He submitted a BLANK answer sheet.

Yes, the guy who was sitting right next to me just wrote the roll number and submitted a blank answer sheet in today's paper. He walked out of the class as if he has done a great job.

And that too smiling at everybody and going out of the exam hall like a king.

Happy Republic Day!

Today being a holiday, I just didn't sat at home, I went to various places and I had pretty unusual experiences. Below is the list:

1) Moms office
I decided to go for the flag hoisting ceremony here. It went on perfectly. The chief guest was some big officer, he gave an awful speech looking at the ground all the time. He talked of the continuously lowering rank of BSNL in the telecom arena. The reasons he gave were corrupt officials, and arrogant employees. I asked some people in the office about him, and found out that he himself is corrupt and very arrogant. Another officer in his speech asked the employees not to come late in the office. But the people said that he himself comes 1 hour late in the office everyday. The most shameful thing, some people sang the National Anthem wrongly. Such was their respect to their country.
Such people should be suspended, right?

Dr. Kalam's eight-point oath for engineering students.

In Nagpur, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam talked about the following eight-point oath that every engineer should take
  1. Engineering and technology is a life time mission. I will work, work, and work and succeed.
  2. Wherever I am, a thought will always come to mind, "What process or product I can innovate, invent or discover.
  3. I will always remember that "Let not my winged days, be spent in vain".
  4. I realise I have to set a great technological goal that will lead me to think high, work and preserve to realise the goal.
  5. My greatest friends will be great scientific and technological minds, good teachers and good looks.
  6. I firmly believe that no problem can defeat me, I will become the captain of the problem, defeat the problem and succeed.
  7. I will work and work for removing the problems faced by planet earth in areas of water, energy, habitat, waste management and environment through the application of science and technology.
  8. My national flag flies in my heart and I will bring glory to my nation.
Hello Engineers! Are you ready to take this oath and work for your nation?

Do you have a Girlfriend?

Have you noticed that whenever you chat with your old school friends, they always ask this question.

I wonder why people want to know about others' girlfriends.

Before somebody asks me this question in the comments, I state that I do not have any girlfriends.

I support Vidarbha.

Did you know that Vidarbha wasn't a part of Maharashtra in the pre-independence era?
It was a part of a state known as Central Provinces and Berar.

Today, leaders of all parties in Vidarbha have come together and have called a Vidarbha bandh to demonstrate support for statehood to this region.

I hope that the bandh becomes successful.

I support Vidarbha!

Hair Cut!

I recently had a haircut.

I asked the barber to give me a GRASS CUT,
and he ended up giving me a GHAJINI CUT.

I am almost bald, I'll never go to that saloon again.

I want to eat those 'pohe'...

Most of my friends are not residents of Nagpur. So, they live in rented flats and rooms. They wake up at 3 o' clock in morning and go for a nice hot 'poha' with a boiling 'chutney' in these chilling winter days.

Yum! I want to feel those in my stomach. They have it every alternate day!

And they tell me about those tasty 'pohe' everyday, because they know that I cannot go out of my house at night as I live here.

Beware of the 'manja' (kite thread)

Yes, 'manja', the thread used to fly kites. That thing is very deadly.

If you travel by a four wheeler, then there's no problem. But if you are a two wheeler rider and you live in India, there is a serious cause of concern.

These days many people or children fly kites on road. And if you are travelling on a two wheeler and you come across a kite thread, you are bound to get sharp cuts anywhere on your body. Every year there are news of people who were injured in such type of incidents. I had read news about people's throat being slit open.

The only thing you can do to prevent such type of incidents is to remain at home and enjoy kite flying on the terrace of your house. Avoid passing from slum areas, as these are the areas where people are least cared about other peoples' safety. Always wear a helmet when you drive which can protect your face if unfortunately you come across the kite thread.

Have a safe and happy Makar Sankranti and Pongal.

In Marathi they say, "तीळ गुळ खा अणि गोड गोड बोला."
That means, "Eat linseed mixed with jaggery and utter good and sweet". (I probably translated it wrongly).

{Poem}: Money! Money! Money!

Money! Money! Money!
You're everybody's honey,
This poem says that you're funny.

Hey Money! You make people cry
Still for you, people try, try, and try,
And they disturb their mind's symmetry. (Read Symme-try)

Hey Money! You make people smile,
Only for you, people are agile,
They work hard to stack you in a pile.

Money! Money! Money!
You're everybody's honey,
This poem indeed says that you're funny.

So people! Don't run after money,
Or you'll loose your lovely honey.
Others will laugh at you; because it will be really funny.

{Poem}: Happy New Year 2010

A Happy New Year to you,
this year your dreams will come true,
and God will shower his blessings on you.

Take a good resolution this year,
and don't tell them to any peer,
God will grant it to you, dear.

Up in the sky, the moon shines bright,
2010 starts with a lunar eclipse tonight.
Watch the eclipse, its a very beautiful sight.

This year, don't repeat the mistakes you made last year.
Be bold and never have in your mind, the slightest fear,
and that will make your target more clear.

Gaurav's blog wishes a Happy New Year to you,
may this year, your dreams come true,
and may God shower his blessings on you.
